D Day and final blog post. I have been planning this day for over 6 months and it has finally arrived and it could not have gone any smoother. Coach quiz, check, Show, check, presents for cast and band, check and most of all backstage tour CHECK. The children were so overcome with emotion at standing on a West End stage many had tears in their eyes. To us and performers alike it is just another day at the office but to children you are watching their dreams come true and that is why I love my job.

Onto the planning the Summer workshops with a great team of teachers and marketing peeps whilst I start rehearsals for the Olympic Opening Ceremony. Its not often you get watched by the entire human race whilst at work. I can't wait.

I am trying to keep calm today and I have surrounded myself with positive people and cake, it does tend to help! The quiz has taken Wyn and I about 3 hours to write but as tour guide Barbie it has to be right. It will keep the children and parents alike occupied on the journey to London. Remember to breathe.

Taking children on a Theatre trip without parents is so very stressful and an exercise I will not be repeating in any hurry. The paperwork is astronomical...your child will wear a seat belt...your child will stay by myside...your child will delete my number after the days end. The list goes on and on and I need a signature for everything. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan I just need to write my coach quiz and pray that they all make it backstage. The sense of relief will be heard for miles.

A fleeting visit to Stella Mann to catch a few jazz classes then onto Bedford college. BETCH courses are all about assessment criteria and I am learning fast. My students at Bedford college learn the same Repetoire and material that I teach at any other institution and today is assessment day. I do work them hard but they see results and are inspired to reach their full potential

Today sees We Will Rock You descend upon Bedford College. With 3 faculty members having appeared in the West End production it is the perfect project to work on over the Summer Term. With a day dedicated to dance auditions there was sweat, sweat, sweat and true to form I proved I can be a dragon. Don't yawn in my class you will all do sit ups whilst I finish my coffee. Well done!

Speaking of talent, I have been teamed up with West End royalty in Glyn Kerslake. We are creating pieces of work for Expressions Theatre school as part of their agent showcase and Summer show to be seen in London. I love creative days and it makes me realise how lucky I am to have the job I do. Being a mum and my own boss, not making money for anyone else. Its hard work but I highly recommend it. Babies are a gift!

Last day of term. Today we asked our vocal coach Nick Fogarty to showcase with the children, and what a job he did. We are so blessed to have such gifted teachers on our team and I just hope the children see the benefit and the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.

Today was another mobile office day at the hairdressers. I have been busy writing reports for the children. I feel it is so important for the parents to know what their child has been up to and how they have progressed, of which they all have in their own way. I feel like a proud Mother Hen !

Today I packed up the office and took everything (including the toddler) to the childminders to set up a mobile office. The endless supply of cake was just too tempting and the company is second to none. The CRB checks were calling me and I invited teachers to join me there to fill out the endless forms. James has all his little friends here and my childminder is more than that. She is a true friend and a rock when I get stuck. She reminds me that self belief is necessary to success. I could not do it without her, thank you Mel xx

...Working for yourself you never stop! From waking up with coffee, to going to sleep with hot chocolate it is hard work. Always thinking of new ways to generate interest and future workshops. But on the upside you can work in your PJ's!
